P.A.W is an animal rescue and low-cost spay and neuter clinic based in Chetumal, MX, run by one woman on a mission to end animal suffering in her community!
For over 30 years, Madi has been dedicated to rescuing animals, starting in Belize and later continuing her work in Mexico. With unmatched passion, she works tirelessly—365 days a year—to care for more than 80 animals. Despite having no funding or community support, she selflessly cares for them all. In addition to rescuing dogs and cats from abuse and neglect, Madi also runs a monthly, low-cost sterilization clinic for the local community, spaying and neutering 50-100 animals every month!
Madi is the heart, soul, and backbone of everything we do—she’s so integral to our mission that you’ll find her represented in our logo.
About us
In the spring of 2021, Corin lost her job due to COVID-19. Eager to find a new direction, she began searching for volunteer opportunities and connected with Madi online. Soon after, she moved to Mexico to help at Madi’s rescue organization. What started as a temporary volunteer stint quickly turned into something much larger. Within a month, Corin found herself unexpectedly taking on a massive rescue mission—going from having never owned a dog to living in a house rehabilitating 18 of them!
After exhausting all local resources, Corin founded Lost Souls of Mexico, an adoption agency dedicated to finding loving homes for these dogs outside of Mexico. She successfully rehomed all the dogs in her care, but her mission didn’t end there. Moved by the overwhelming need, she knew there was still much more work to be done.
Since 2021, Lost Souls of Mexico and P.A.W have worked together to rescue, rehabilitate and find loving homes
for over 200 cats and dogs in the Lower Mainland, BC.
